Hospital Grade Diaper Rash Creams

How are your diaper creams different than the creams that I use?

When your pediatrician was going through training at a pediatric Hospital he or she was able to order diaper rash creams that were custom-made and not available outside of the hospital. These were "butt pastes" that helped clear up and prevent diaper rash. Since the pharmacists who developed Kids'n Cures have over 70 years combined experience with pediatrics in a children's hospital we decided it was time to give babies in the community access to these diaper rash creams. Kids'n Cures has been making these prescription creams available for over 7 years and they have helped many children prevent and resolve diaper rash problems.

How does it work?

When a baby urinates or has a bowel movement enzymes in the diaper area can be activated in an acidic environment. These enzymes can cause the skin to break down allowing opportunistic yeasts from the bowel movement to cause a rash. A rash caused by a yeast infection cannot be cured by a "barrier cream". Once the rash gets to this point only an antifungal cream can kill the yeast. Prevention is the best cure. The basic hospital-grade cream that Kids'n Cures makes contains antacids that prevent the enzymes from breaking down the baby's skin in the first place. The two other formulations that Kids'n Cures makes contain antifungals that kill yeast if that is required.

Why do I need a prescription?

Since our diaper rash creams are compounded, Federal regulations require a prescription. Prescriptions are easy to fill in a few simple steps; it is shipped free, and may be covered by insurance.
